Cancellation & Refund Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, refunds and disputes are handled on BharatCaller, the freelance marketplace operated by MAMMOTIX TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

Because payments on BharatCaller are staged and held in an escrow-style arrangement per milestone, refunds are assessed at the milestone level based on the work completed and approved.

1. How staged payments work

Each engagement is broken into milestones. A client funds a milestone before the work for that milestone begins, and the funds are held by our payment partner until the client approves the deliverable, at which point they are released to the provider. Money and progress stay in step, and both sides are protected. Receipts for staged installments are prefixed “GLD-” and are available in your account.

2. Cancelling before work begins

If an engagement or a specific milestone is cancelled by mutual agreement before the provider has started that milestone, the funds held for that milestone are returned to the client in full, less any applicable non-refundable amounts described in Section 5.

  • A client may cancel an unfunded milestone at any time before funding it.
  • Either party may propose cancellation of a funded milestone that has not yet started; where both parties agree, held funds are released back to the client.
  • If a provider has not begun agreed work within a reasonable time and does not respond, a client may request cancellation and a refund of the held milestone funds.

3. Cancelling after work has started

If work on a milestone is already underway, a refund is assessed on the basis of the work completed and delivered:

  • Where partial work has been delivered and accepted, the parties may agree a fair split of the held milestone funds reflecting the completed portion, with the remainder refunded to the client.
  • Where the delivered work does not meet the agreed scope, the client should first request revisions from the provider within the engagement.
  • If the parties cannot agree, either side may raise a dispute (Section 4) and the held milestone funds remain in escrow until it is resolved.

4. Disputes over a milestone

Either party may raise a dispute on a funded milestone through the Platform. While a milestone is in dispute, the held funds are not released to either party. We may review the engagement records, messages and deliverables and help the parties reach a resolution. Any outcome we facilitate is limited to the funds held for the disputed milestone; the underlying service contract remains between the client and the provider.

5. Non-refundable amounts

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Connects spent to submit proposals, except where the job was fraudulent or was removed by us for a policy violation.
  • Platform service fees on funds that have already been released for approved milestones.
  • Payment-gateway or processing charges levied by our payment partner on a completed transaction, where these are non-recoverable.

Where a job is found to be fraudulent or is taken down for a policy violation, we will restore or refund the connects spent on it.

6. How and when refunds are paid

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method used for the transaction. Once a refund is approved, it is typically initiated promptly and processed within 7–10 business days, though the exact time it takes to reflect in your account depends on your bank or card issuer and our payment partner. We do not charge a fee to process a valid refund.

7. How to request a cancellation or refund

You can raise a cancellation, refund or dispute from within the relevant engagement on the Platform. If you need help, contact our support team at support@bharatcaller.com with your account details and the engagement or receipt reference (for example, your “GLD-” receipt number). We aim to acknowledge refund and cancellation requests within 48 hours.

If you are not satisfied with how your request is handled, you may escalate it under our Customer Grievance Redressal Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. The policy in effect at the time a milestone is funded governs that milestone.
